After meeting the instructor I am really excited to really take a step back from doing math and take a look at how children think about math. Being that I have only taken 3 math courses my college career I am really looking forward to looking at math in a whole new light. I hope to learn lots of techniques to take into the classroom that I will be able to modify or accommodate to meet the needs of my special education classroom. I think it is very important for teachers to be able to take a step back and not only think about curriculum as a whole but really think about the best possible way to get the information across to children in a way they will understand and enjoy. Overall I hope this experience, although short, will really give me a different perspective on how a good teacher teaches math.
